Dementia: Through Their Eyes

Uncovering unmet needs for those living with dementia to prevent falls

Description

Join us for this special National Fall Huddle session during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. The fall experts at SafelyYou will be joined by Juliet Holt Klinger, Senior Director of Dementia Care and Programs at Brookdale Senior Living, to discuss “Dementia: Through their Eyes” and how uncovering unmet needs for those living with dementia can help to reduce falls and more for residents.

When a resident is found on the ground, there is typically much uncertainty, including when and how the fall happened. Residents living with dementia may not accurately share what happened. And without knowing these key details it’s difficult to determine the root cause to put preventative measures in place. Technology can now play that role of advocate for resident safety. Understanding the unique and specific needs of residents living with dementia can have a significant impact on their care and safety.

Join this session to learn how artificial intelligence-enabled video review can help reduce falls and keep not only residents living with dementia but for all residents out of the ER. We’ll cover best practices, based on witnessing 15K+ of these previously puzzling fall events in senior living community bedrooms, that you can implement to keep your memory care residents safer.

As always, we’ll also conduct two new live fall huddles to share tips for fall prevention to apply to your communities. Bring your questions for the experts.
